Inverclyde Leisure bring LazyTown Sports Club to Greenock Leisure Centre

I am really excited to announce that Inverclyde Leisure have teamed up with FitKid to offer a FREE trial of the LazyTown Sports Club at the Greenock Sports Centre on Thursday 19th May enabling children to experience the fun of LazyTown in an activity class.

The class will be delivered by Mandy Beer who is our franchisee within the Stirling and West Lothian area and is very well known for her motivation and dedication to help children lead a healthy lifestyle. Mandy has told me of the excitement to show the children of Inverclyde how much fun they can have at a LazyTown Sports club session. So remember to book your place early as demand for places will no doubt be very high!

Alison King, for Inverclyde Leisure is looking forward to the classes “We are very excited to welcome Mandy to Greenock Leisure Centre and after this trial we hope to offer the programme starting in the Greenock Sports Centre hence enabling the children of Inverclyde to participate in a programme which will be lots of fun and help to improve their health”

This is great news for the children of Inverclyde, and we are really excited to be helping them to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Mia Recieves her LazyTown Sports Club Trophy

Mia was a very happy and proud girl when she received her trophy for completing 50 hours of the LazyTown Sports Club at the Bridge of Allan Class in Scotland.  Mandy Beer, our franchisee was really pleased to present the trophy to Mia at the class. Mia is part of the national LazyTown membership scheme, which rewards children on participation of the classes.  The children gain different LazyTown character stickers for each class they attend, and are rewarded with a bronze medal after completing 10 hours, a silver medal after 30 hours and then the special LazyTown Sports Club  trophy at 50 hours! Well done Mia

Mandy helps raise funds in the memory of Alexis Rose

Today I was speaking with Mandy, who is my franchisee in Scotland and she told me about a fundraising event she will be helping at soon in memory of Alexis Rose.

It brought tears to my eyes when she told me the story below –

“Alexis Rose Tribute Fund”

Alexis Rose, our beautiful baby daughter, was 16 months old when she died very suddenly of meningitis this year. She had bags of personality and was by nature a fighter- born nearly 3 months early and weighing 2lb 12 ounces she spent a while in hospital alongside her twin sister but quickly grew in strength. She was always laughing and making us laugh, we will never forget her toothy smile and the way she would look over to make sure people were watching before she did something naughty. She was so happy and healthy and we never dreamed that anything could ever take her away from us, but meningitis ended her life within hours. We have decided to continue Alexis’s fight and refuse to let meningitis beat us by raising money to fund research into this terrible illness.

This is a very sad story and I hope the fundraising that Mandy is assisting with, will help to raise vital funds to aid the research into meningitis.

To find out how you can help, please email mandy@fitkid.co.uk

Keep sponsoring us please. We will continue over the weekend as well…

Comic Relief efforts will continue in the sunshine this weekend…

As you can see we have a few fund raising activities on the go today and we will continue tomorrow and on Sunday with additional fund raising activities as we look to get nearer to our £500 target.

As we are FitKid, we will be integrating fun fitness activities in to those as well.

Spacehopping as Wonder Woman around Sainsbury’s and getting as many kids moving is GREAT!

We will continue by running and cycling around the park with further donations going towards our target.

Once the kids are off school they will join is as well as we look to make a positive contribution to those who are more needy than us.

Well done to everyone else in the wider World helping out and raising money for Comic Relief
