FitKid teams up with Julia’s House Project

I have decided to continue a family tradition that has been close to my family for many years now and that is in supporting Julia’s House, the children’s hospice in Poole, Dorset. Specifically we will be supporting their Pyjama Appeal which was launched this month to fund the charity’s new overnight care service.
In teaming up with Julia’s House, which offers support and respite to life-limited children and their families, I am encouraging schools to take part in fundraising events in their pyjamas or to dream up fundraising ideas with a night-time theme.  With great ideas such as dress-down days, pyjama parties and other sponsored challenges, my team will also be visiting selected schools to engage the children in fun fitness sessions and encourage them to go bananas in pyjamas.

There are many ways you can get involved and encourage your child’s school to get in their pyjamas!  As an incentive, top fundraising schools can have their very own LazyTown Sports Club Go Bananas in Pyjamas session. Hosted by the official LazyTown Sports Club Sportacus himself and the LazyTown Sports Club Team, the children will be asked to get sponsorship to wear their pyjamas and join in the session.  The session will include fun exercises and the children will be encouraged to have a banana, or Sports Candy, as fruit is known in LazyTown, before they get to school.  This will be a wonderful opportunity for the children and schools to be part of the appeal and support such a worthy cause.”

I really hope many schools and other venues, as well as individuals and families will back this project which is something very close to me due to the fact that my parents are and my grandparents were huge supporters of Julia’s House.
