Sportacus and Stephanie get Moving!
It is with great excitement that I am able to confirm a new agreement with DC Leisure to begin the delivery of the LazyTown Sports Club powered by FitKid.
Starting in January, at the Arena Leisure Centre in Camberley, the LazyTown Sports Club powered by FitKid will be integrated in to their offering
This partnership forms a key part of the strategy which FitKid and LazyTown are developing together in the UK and Ireland over the coming 18 months
As an organisation, DC Leisure is focused on encouraging physical activity for children through fun games and activities and has therefore decided to introduce LazyTown Sports Club. A new birthday celebration package and a weekly class will add to their ever growing children’s activity programme. These new sessions will aim to attract new children into the Centre and look to get them active and enjoying themselves by following the LazyTown programme that many of them will have seen and enjoyed at home on television.
They will combine all the movement, excitement, music, action and go, go, go of the LazyTown TV shows in a exciting physical activity class for children. Children who attend the weekly classes, also get an exclusive health message from Sportacus to take home, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.
Magnus Scheving, the creator, producer and star of LazyTown commented “ It’s great news to hear that more children will have the opportunity to participate in the LazyTown Sports Club. These sessions will help to meet LazyTown’s aim “To Move the World”
DC Leisure specialises in the development and management of leisure facilities in partnership with local authorities throughout the UK and currently manages over 110 facilities working with 30 different Local Authority partners. One of the company’s key objectives is to encourage ‘More people, More active, More often’ which is in line with Sport England’s strategy to increase participation.
“We are really excited at the opportunity to work with a global brand of LazyTown and we are confident that the new sessions will help us to encourage physical activity in children and teach them good habits about eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly.” Catharine Simonds, Group Marketing Manager for DC Leisure.
If you are interested in finding more about opportunities for your children to join in the activities, please contact the Centre.
It has been a very exciting finish to the end of 2011 and there will be more exciting announcements to come in 2011
