Rotary Club of Cleethorpes congratulates Adele

Great work Adele

I was so pleased to hear that the Rotary Club of Cleethorpes had written to Adele to thank her for the great party she delivered for them before Christmas.

“ Dear Adele,

Children’s Christmas Party at Lucarlys.

We wanted to say a big thank you to you for coming along to the Club’s Christmas Party in December to make it go with a swing The children loved what you did and they were all very excited about your super activities. I am not sure if the teachers and Rotarians were so active!

We have had a letter from BursarPrimary School which we passed around the Club. We had a Council meeting last night and again everyone wanted to say thanks – and we all wish you well”

Keep up the great work Adele and if you would like to find out about Adele’s activities, please email her at adele@fitkid.co.uk

Surprise visit from Ofsted during Karina’s class

An Ofsted inspector arrives ………………..

Club 0-14 Day Nursery in Shrewsbury had a surprise visit from the Ofsted inspector last week, she arrived slap bang in the middle of a session being delivered by Karina from FitKid which she  delivers for them every week.  Alongside other in-house activities that the staff already do to cover healthy topics, the Ofsted inspector awarded them ‘outstanding’ for the Health section of the report.  Proof that Karina’s activities can both help support the health of the children and help support the health of the business!  Well done Club 0-14 for such a great report.

Pudsey visits Bournemouth

It was such a pleasure to have Pudsey to stay last weekend.

We picked him up from Southampton on Friday evening and head straigh to Bournemouth Station where Pudsey got a tour of the Cross Country train before it headed back to birmingham. He was able to look in the cab and enjoyed sitting at a table with Ellie, lauren and Daniel who attend FitKid.

On Saturday  he came with us to Bournemouth and met many of his fans and joined in a FitKid workout.

It was lots of fun and great to have Pudsey with us for the weekend.

On sunday we returned Pudsey to Southampton and my daughters were very sad to say Bye Bye to him. However we are off to seeiung him on Friday to hand over our fundraising.

A great fun wekend for all and a great opportuntity to raise funds for a very worth while cause.

Jamie Oliver says the new government obesity strategy is a cop

Go Jamie Oliver

I was very pleased to read the article by Jamie Oliver about the Government’s new obesity strategy and have to agree with Jamie’s comments.

The new strategy on obesity tells people to eat less and move more, how long have they being say this and the obesity issue is just rising :-(

Jamie commented in the Guardian yesterday that “This whole strategy is just worthless, regurgitated, patronising rubbish. Any of us could walk into any primary school in the country and find plenty of eight-year-olds with more creative solutions to these problems. It’s a farce.”

My daughter Ellie is 8 years old and she certainly could come up with some better ideas, we all know that it is about having the right team to inspire people to get active and lead a helathy lifestyle, many people do not have the Education, Will power or Ability to do it themselves.

People need to be educated on how to make better choices and there are many very passionate people who can do this but they need the support and financial input to make this happen.

Come on the UK government, talk to the people and businesses and really find out what they want to make positive changes to their health.

Contact me at nicky@fitkid.co.uk if you are passion about physcial activtiy and health and want to help make these changes. Lets work as a team to make this happen.
